STONE L'OVEN OPENS IN FALMOUTH CENTER

May 13, 2011, Falmouth, MA—Stone L’oven Pizza Company is making charming Main Street in Falmouth even more of a destination. Last month marked the official grand opening of this unique pizzeria and café, which is quickly becoming known for its extraordinarily delicious pizza with a twist. It’s healthy.

Whether you’re looking for that perfect date-night destination, somewhere to conduct business over a bite to eat, or a place the kids will want to go to see live hand-tossing demonstrations against the backdrop of an open stone-hearth oven, this one-of-a-kind pizzeria is the answer. Recognized for its creative choices and relaxed, innovative atmosphere, Stone L’oven has something for everyone.

Restaurateur Scott Lopes is no stranger to pizza. He has owned and operated the Pizza Wave in Marstons Mills for eight years and before that he fell in love with pizza while working with his brother, who owns Pizzas by Evan in Hyannis and the Pizza Wave in Bristol, RI. “I’ve been living and breathing pizza for over a decade and I’m thrilled to bring the first Stone L’oven to Cape Cod,” Lopes said. “It’s very different than my other restaurant and based on the way the community has embraced this fresh, new concept, I’m convinced that people want a dining experience that tastes good, feels good and is not only affordable but is a great value.”

Online sources show that 94% of the United States population eats pizza, approximately 100 acres of pizza each day (which is about 350 slices per second). And this is why Falmouth has a new pizzeria. Stone L’oven is giving people what they want—pizza. But the choices don’t stop there. They offer outstanding soups, salads, calzones, pastas, sandwiches, and more, all of which you can enjoy with something from the wine bar or an award-winning regional craft brew, and finish with a cappuccino.

“We know pizza. We have a passion for pizza. And Americans want pizza,” Lopes said.

Stone L’oven’s Neapolitan-style pizza does not contain any additives, preservatives or chemicals of any kind, and what’s more, they do not add any sugar or oil to the dough or sauce. Their tomatoes are packed fresh in the fields (not concentrated), and their cheese is all natural from a farm in Wisconsin, where the dairy cattle are not only treated humanely, they get to listen to the soothing sounds of classical music. Many ingredients are bought locally whenever possible and Stone L’oven makes every effort to give back locally to events and fundraisers that are important to its guests and neighbors.

In 2007, branding company BER inc, located in Mattapoisett, MA, where Lopes grew up, designed the Stone L’oven logo and color palette that is used throughout the restaurant, giving it a warm, organic, cozy feel. “We helped Scott dramatically increase brand recognition for the Pizza Wave virtually over night, so when he came to us to develop an identity for Stone L’oven before he had even started looking at locations, I knew this idea was going places,” Kerrin Adrian, executive director of BER inc, said. “When you mix good design with a business owner who understands its power and value, you have a recipe for success.”

In order to stand out in a vast sea of pizzeria choices, Stone L’oven continually strives to be remarkable by offering an unforgettable experience, hiring exceptional people, and taking extra special care of our earth by making recycling a way of life at the restaurant. There is ample free parking in the rear and additional conveniences such as take-out and delivery right to your front door. To learn more, go to www.stoneloven.com.
